The FCT Ministerial Task Force has effected the arrest of an Imam for violating the government’s ban on social gatherings.
The task force led by Comrade Ikharo Attah, on Sunday, stormed the Wuye Juma’at mosque to arrest its chief Imam. Attah reveals that the taskforce got several reports of the imam holding a Ju’maat service in the mosque on Friday amidst the lockdown in Abuja.
In footage seen by POLITICS NIGERIA, after explaining the offence along with verses from the koran to the Imam, Attah swiftly arrested him.
It will be recalled that Attah has been earlier accused of religious bias in the enforcement of the ban on religious gatherings in the nation’s capital.
He denied the allegations that the restriction on religious gathering by the FCT Administration is being targeted at only people of certain faiths.
