Imo State has been struck by tragedy as an auto crash at the Amanwozuzu junction in Ikeduru Local Government Area claimed the lives of eight members of a family.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) overseeing Ikeduru LGA, Lucky Ahiole, confirmed this devastating incident to reporters in Owerri on Friday.
The accident, occurring around 3:00 pm on Friday, involved a Sienna car carrying all eight victims.
According to the DPO, the collision took place when the Sienna vehicle collided with a stationary truck loaded with rods, resulting in the tragic demise of all passengers aboard the car.
“Eight died, and we have taken them to a morgue. We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies,” stated Ahiole, describing the sad aftermath of the collision.
