The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched an investigation into the forex transactions of 52 companies conducted during the tenure of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele, POLITICS NIGERIA has learned.
One of the places being searched includes the office of Dangote Company PLC in Lagos.
Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesman, has declined to comment on the raid.
Investigators have in the past months accused the CBN of favouring and enriching some individuals and companies through non-transparent allocation of foreign exchange to them.
