NNPC offers N200,000 fuel voucher to lady trolled for waking up at 4.50am to cook for husband

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has extended a gesture of goodwill to a woman, Deborah Loveth, with the X handle – #_Debbie_OA, who faced online criticism for her early morning cooking routine for her husband.

#_Debbie_OA’s daily habit of waking up at 4:50 a.m. to prepare breakfast for her spouse became a heated discussion on social media, drawing both support and condemnation from netizens.

Amidst the controversy, some Nigerians asked her to send her account details to support her, and the amount donated so far has surpassed N2 million.

NNPC intervened with an unexpected act of kindness. The corporation took to its official social media platform to acknowledge #_Debbie_OA’s dedication.

In a tweet shared on Saturday, NNPC announced their decision to gift #_Debbie_OA with a N200,000 fuel voucher, redeemable at any of their numerous retail stations nationwide.

The tweet from NNPC read, “Hello #_Debbie_OA, we admire your commitment and would like to present you with a N200,000 fuel voucher, redeemable at any of our nationwide retail stations. This is to ensure your daily routine is supported. We’ve just followed you. Please check your DM. Best wishes.”

In a similar show of support, Infinix Nigeria, a smartphone company, also joined the movement by offering #_Debbie_OA and her husband their latest device, the Infinix Hot 40.

Furthermore, in a heartening display of solidarity, the online community rallied behind #_Debbie_OA, with a tech company offering her husband a fully-funded scholarship. At the same time, another person gifted them a bed and a wardrobe.

Someone else bought them a smart TV and a DSTV decoder, while another kind-hearted Nigerian offered to pay for a two-bedroom flat for the couple.
