I have not received Tinubu’s rice or money – Labour Party senator releases statement

Senator Okechukwu Ezea, representing Enugu North on the Labour Party platform, has denied receiving any palliative materials, food or financial, from President Bola Tinubu for distribution to his constituents.

This comes amidst speculations in the media claiming lawmakers benefited from such government support packages.

“I want to categorically state that I have not received any material palliative, neither money nor food items, from the federal government for my constituents,” Senator Ezea said in a statement released on Monda.

He pledged to “share such palliative transparently, in line with my principle of equity and fairness.”

The statement added, “Given the enormity of hardship faced by my constituents, I, at my cost, have gone ahead to distribute bags of rice in the new year across the 102 wards of my district.

‘’The distribution has been concluded at the local government level while sharing of the items to the beneficiaries is currently ongoing across the ward.’’
