Senator Shehu Sani, on Monday, revealed that bandits blocked the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway and abducted scores of passengers on Sunday night.
Sani revealed this in a post on X, adding that the incident happened near Kateri village around 9 pm.
He added that politicians from the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) and opposition parties were among those who escaped being abducted by the terrorists.
His words: “Just when we felt safer, yesternight kidnappers returned to the Kaduna Abuja road. They blocked the road and abducted scores of persons around 9 pm near Kateri village.
“Two of my Honorable friends from the ruling and opposition parties had to run through the bush like Usain Bolt. But despite this incidence, there is stronger security presence along the route than it used to be in the past”.
It’s not clear the number of abducted passengers at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, a blogger on X, under the name Naija Hub, has revealed that a soldier was among those kidnapped.
In a post on the social media platform, the blogger wrote: “Lance Corporal Chinedu Jerry was kidnapped yesterday evening along Kaduna – Abuja Expressway. Bandits are at it again in the Kaduna axis. Kindly retweet to be able to reach his family.
