Nigeria defied a downward trend among major oil producers, boosting its average daily crude output to 1.418 million barrels in December, up from 1.31 million in November.
The 100,000 bpd increase, reported by OPEC in its monthly oil market report, helped push the group’s overall output up by a modest 73,000 bpd to 26.7 million bpd.
While heavyweights like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iran saw output dips, Nigeria joined Iraq in powering the slight collective gain.
