In a recent prediction, Opta supercomputer has calculated a 28.8% chance for the Super Eagles to clinch the coveted trophy.
The prediction comes ahead of the quarterfinal clash between Nigeria and Angola on Friday.
Nigeria has had an exciting run in the competition. Since their opening draw against Equatorial Guinea, the team secured maximum points and clean sheets against Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau. The team defeated Cameroon 2-0 to secure a quarterfinal spot.
Mali trails closely behind as the second favourite with a 14.7% chance of victory, while the host nation, Ivory Coast, has a 13.5% hope of lifting the trophy. DR Congo and Cape Verde round out the top five contenders.
