Bandits kidnap two students, six other passengers on Obajana-Lokoja road expressway

Bandits have reportedly kidnapped two students and six other passengers along the Obajana-Lokoja expressway in Kogi State.

The victims were abducted when the gunmen intercepted their vehicle.

The incident occurred around 4.30 pm on Saturday around the Oshokoshoko axis, and the victims were subsequently taken into the bush.

A member of the People with Disabilities (PWDs), Kogi State chapter, Elupo Eliazer, said his wife and son were among the victims.

He said the abductors had called and demanded N30 million ransom, adding that after negotiation and appeal, the amount was reduced to N2.6 million.

“We were travelling to attend our church convention in Lokoja. I decided to follow a different vehicle as the Toyota could not contain all of us; if not, I would have been in the car with her,” he told Daily Trust.
