Troops of the Nigerian Air Force stationed at Durbunde in Takai Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State have successfully apprehended a notorious kidnapper, 35-year-old Isah Abdul.
The operation, conducted on February 19, 2024, at approximately 6:30 pm, was said to have been executed based on credible intelligence regarding the hideout of the high-profile kidnapper and his gang.
Abdul, a well-known criminal, has been implicated in numerous kidnapping incidents in the region.
Preliminary investigations have linked him to the abduction of Yakubu Ibrahim Tagaho, popularly known as “Sarkin Noman Gaya,” on April 6, 2023.
The victim was taken from his residence in Tagaho Village, Takai LGA, and released a month later after a ransom of N30,000,000 was paid.
In December 2023, Abdul was involved in the abduction of two sisters and three others from the same village, releasing them only after a substantial ransom was collected.
He was said to have also established connections with other notorious kidnapping gangs, including the Danbul Fulaku gang operating in Takai LGA.
According to NAF spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Abdul is currently in the custody of the Nigerian Air Force, undergoing further investigations.
Gabkwet said he will be ”handed over to appropriate authorities for further proceedings.”
