First Lady Remi Tinubu has prescribed capital punishment for any kidnapper who is arrested by law enforcement agents in the country.
Mrs Tinubu stated this while reacting to the abduction of over 200 schoolchildren in Kaduna on Thursday, March 7.
Describing them as “animals”, the former senator said parents, especially mothers of kidnapped schoolchildren suffer heartbreak due to the actions of the abductors.
“Whoever is kidnapping young schoolchildren is sick, cruel and a coward. Enough is enough. I call on the state governors that once we take hold of them, they deserve capital punishment,” she said.
“Why don’t they take people their size? Why are they taking innocent schoolchildren? They’re trying to kill our future because when we’re old, we rely on our children.
”They [kidnappers] are animals; they’re evil and we should take them out of our midst,” she added.
