Thirteen individuals, including twelve married women and one man, have been kidnapped at Kurechin Giye village in Katsina State.
The assailants, armed with sophisticated weapons, also looted property worth millions of naira during the invasion.
According to a resident who preferred anonymity, the hoodlums carried out the attack late on Monday, with the ordeal lasting for hours without any security intervention.
The resident said attackers even went as far as splashing hot millet-based drinks on children and women before fleeing with the stolen property.
Although initial reports suggested that thirteen people were kidnapped, the spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, Abubakar Sadiq, stated that only five women were abducted.
He assured that efforts are underway to rescue the victims safely.
