Bandits in large numbers gathered openly to observe this year’s Eid-El-Fitr prayers and festivities in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.
The terrorists congregated at the Eid ground in Munhaye town in Zamfara on Wednesday, seemingly undeterred by the presence of security forces, to perform the two raka’at prayers, marking the end of the Ramadan fast.
A viral video posted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama showcased the bandits calmly celebrating Eid-El-Fitr without any visible apprehension, with their guns in plain sight.
They reportedly spent hours reciting the Quran and engaging in wild jubilation.
“Bandits in Zamfara state have released a new video showing its members celebrating the recent Eid-el-Fitr festival in Munhaye community in Zamfara state,” Zagazola said in a tweet.
The brazen display of the bandits has sparked outrage among Nigerians, with many expressing their displeasure on social media platforms.
They question how the terrorists could gather openly without being arrested or challenged by police personnel or soldiers.
