No fewer than three persons have been killed in an attack by suspected herdsmen on Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The attack which took place on Sunday evening also left many critically injured.
Sources said that herdsmen attacked mourners at Ugwuijoro Nimbo community killing four people instantly.
Although some residents said four corpses had been recovered, the community have formed search parties as so many people are currently missing.
One of the residents, Chijoke Okunna said that seven people were seriously inflicted with machete cuts.
Those killed were identified as Okeh Simon Ugwu Oruku, Okeh Chukwuebuka, Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea.
A viral video seen on X (Twitter) on Monday morning showed a deserted community.
The voice in the video cried the invaders took the villagers by surprise and shot sporadically at the mourners.
Tables and chairs could be seen scattered in the compound where the mourners gathered with lifeless villagers also seen in the pool of their blood.
Nimbo was also attacked in 2016, leading to the death of scores of people.
Enugu Police Command was yet to respond enquiries on the ncident as of the time of writing this report.
