In a tweet via his X handle, Atiku described Obi’s visit as an honour and privilege.

Although Atiku, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, did not disclosed the reason for Obi’s visit, some Nigerians on social media are of the opinion that it may not be unconnected with the 2027 elections.

Politics Nigeria reports that Obi was Atiku’s running mate during the 2019 presidential election.

The former Anambra State governor then decamped to the Labour Party few months to the 2023 primary election of the PDP.

Meanwhile, Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, has clarified that Atiku did not play a role in  Obi’s departure from the party.

Ibe revealed that FCT minister Nyesom Wike’s promotion of his zone for the presidency in the south influenced Obi’s decision to resign from the PDP.

While acknowledging Wike’s influence in the party, Ibe said: “Wike has charted different paths to serve his interest because I don’t understand what interest, is it the PDP interest? It cannot be. It is his interest all well and good for him.”

  1. It is good for Peter Obi to join hand with Atiku & Saraki to save this Nation, it is obvious Tinubu has no expertise and knowledge to solve Nigerians hardship now. There is nothing you call Atiku, Saraki that Tinubu is also not guilty of the difference now is they have seen the problem and are prepared or do you want to continue with propaganda strategy of this govt. Let them handle the govt from 2027. Student loan since Des 2023, Buses to cushion transportation costs of workers where are they, Minimum wages for civil servants since June2023 where are all these promises they are propaganda to make us wait till 2027. Now he is paying subsidy on petrol, we were told Portharcourt Refinery is ready where is the petrol and where is Dangote Refinery petrol and diesel all Na wayo. Tinubu is very good at increasing the GDP but not good at given back to citizens who sacrifice to increase GD. His Joy and love is money NO utility for masses. Transport very high, food very high, Can’t govt farm?
