After initially refusing to accept Finidi George’s resignation as Super Eagles coach due to an unsigned letter, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee has finally accepted his decision to step down.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that Finidi has now submitted a signed quit notice, which was distributed to all executive committee members.
An official statement confirming his resignation was expected yesterday, following the Sallah holidays.
Finidi’s decision to resign came after the NFF expressed its decision to appoint a foreign technical adviser to oversee him, a move he opposed. In his letter to NFF president Ibrahim Gusau, he stated that due to changes in the Super Eagles technical crew, which included appointing individuals he had handpicked, he opted to step down as head coach.
