In response to the recent fuel shortages and long queues in cities such as Abuja, the Nigerian government has issued a statement addressing the concerns and frustrations of residents in the country’s capital.
In a message posted on X, the minister of petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, acknowledged the difficulties faced by the public due to fuel shortages, attributing the disruption to recent flooding on key trucking routes and unavoidable logistical challenges caused by adverse weather conditions.
“I understand the frustration many of you are feeling due to the fuel queues in cities such as Abuja. Recent flooding on the trucking route and unavoidable logistical challenges due to weather concerns have temporarily disrupted our distribution chain,” he said.
He assured Nigerians that dedicated teams are working tirelessly to resolve these issues and restore normal fuel supply as swiftly as possible.
“I assure you that our dedicated team is working round the clock to resolve these issues. We are committed to restoring normal fuel supply as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.”
“Together, we will overcome these challenges,” he concluded.
