APC National Chairman Ganduje, Wife to Appear in Court over Alleged Diversion of State Funds

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his wife Hafsat, and six others are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to answer charges related to alleged bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of billions of naira in funds.

The move to recover the allegedly diverted funds was initiated by the Kano State Government.

It can be recalled that after extensive legal arguments, the court ordered the service of the seven respondents through substituted means, including newspaper advertisements.

On June 5, 2024, a Kano State High Court granted the order, which was carried out on June 6, 2024, through advertisements in Daily Trust and The Nation newspapers.

The respondents include Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his wife Hafsat, Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.

Justice Amina Adamu presided over the case and adjourned the matter until July 11, 2024, for a hearing.
