The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad has apprehended three suspects with large quantities of stolen crude oil in Omuma, Rivers State.
The NSCDC, through its official X handle @official_NSCDC, announced the successful operation today.
The three suspects were caught with substantial quantities of stolen crude oil, according to the statement.
The NSCDC Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad, known for its expertise, was said to have tracked and apprehended the individuals.
The operation not only led to the arrest of the suspects but also prevented further loss of crude oil, a critical asset to Nigeria’s economy. This proactive measure highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations in addressing the issue of oil theft.
“This operation is a testament to the effectiveness of our Special Intelligence Squad and our broader efforts to combat illegal activities related to the oil sector.
“We are committed to protecting Nigeria’s resources and ensuring those involved in oil theft are brought to justice,” an official of the NSCDC said.
The NSCDC recently reiterated its commitment to continuing its efforts in fighting oil theft and other related crimes.
