Governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have arrived in Enugu state for the party’s Governors Forum meeting.

The meeting, preceded by a gala and cultural night, is being held at the Enugu State Government House.

About ten governors are present.

The attending governors include Sheyin Makinde (Oyo), Umo Eno (Akwa-Ibom), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ahmed Fintiri (Adamawa), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), and host governor Peter Mbah (Enugu).

Sources close to the party revealed that Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and other key leaders will join the governors.

The meeting is likely to focus on organizing successful state congresses, preparations for the Edo and Ondo governorship elections, and the implications of the Supreme Court’s judgment granting financial autonomy to Local Governments. The governors may also address the recent defections of top party members, including former Senate President Pius Anyim, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

As of press time, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke and Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri had not arrived.
