APC Candidate in Edo, Monday Okpebholo, Vows To Avenge Death Of Police Aide

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the September 21, 2024, governorship election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has vowed to ensure justice is served for his police orderly, Inspector Akor Onu, who was killed by suspected political thugs on Thursday.

Inspector Onu was attacked and killed after leaving the Benin airport premises, where he had accompanied Senator Okpebholo and reinstated Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu from Abuja.

The APC candidate has condemned the unprovoked attack, describing it as “cruel and violent.”

In a condolence message, he expressed sadness and empathy for the family of the slain policeman and the injured members of his convoy receiving treatment in various hospitals.

Senator Okpebholo assured the bereaved family that the brutal killing of Inspector Onu would not be swept under the carpet, vowing to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. He described Inspector Onu as a “good policeman” and a friend of over 12 years.
