Chinese leader President Xi Jinping has extended an invitation to President Bola Tinubu to pay a state visit to China in September.
The invitation was delivered by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, at the Aso Villa on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu has accepted the invitation.
The visit is expected to strengthen Nigeria-China bilateral relations and the proposed currency swap agreement.
The statement also revealed that President Xi Jinping has extended a warm welcome to First Lady Remi Tinubu during the visit.
Chen Xiaodong was accompanied by a large entourage during the invitation ceremony.
