The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has confirmed the arrest of Bristol Tamunobiefiri, known by his pseudonym PIDOM.
The arrest took place on August 5, 2024, at a hotel in Rivers State.
According to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, PIDOM was taken into custody for allegedly committing serious offences that undermine the integrity of government operations.
The statement outlined several allegations against the suspect, including unlawful possession, leakages of classified documents, cyber-related offences, and others.
The police have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted, leaving no stone unturned to enforce the law and ensure a secure nation.
The police statement reads:

In a well-coordinated effort, officials from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) apprehended Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, also known as PIDOM, on allegations of committing serious offenses that undermine the integrity of government operations. The arrest took place on August 5, 2024, in his hotel room Rivers State.
There are several allegations levelled against the suspect, including unlawful possession, leakages of classified documents, cyber related offences, and others. We will do due diligence in carrying out thorough investigation into the cases.

The confirmation comes after investigative journalist David Hundeyin revealed that PIDOM, the anonymous whistleblower behind the Twitter handle #PIDOMNIGERIA, was alive and in police custody, set to be arraigned in court next week.
