JUST IN: Kogi State Gov’t Reveals Why Governor Ododo Met with PDP Governors in Jalingo

Amid rumours of potential defection, the Kogi State Government has explained the circumstances surrounding Governor Usman Ododo’s recent meeting with governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The clarification was made by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Kogi State Commissioner of Information.

According to him, Governor Ododo did not attend a meeting of the PDP governors’ forum as earlier speculated. Instead, he attended a wedding ceremony in Taraba State, hosted by Governor Agbu Kefas.

Fanwo made the response in a social media post.

In his words, “The Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, jetted out hours after his Supreme Court victory to attend the wedding of the daughter of the Taraba State Governor, His Excellency Agbu Kefas, in Taraba.”

POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported that Governors under the umbrella of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had a meeting on Friday.

The PDP governors met to discuss ways to issues concerning the party amid leadership crisis.

Photos from the meeting show Governor Ododo dressed in a matching outfit with his PDP counterparts.

The governors included Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara) and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau).

    The fight will be dirty and Ododo should avoid any avoidable distractions and troubles from Tinubu government.
