Nigerian police have announced a N20 million reward for information leading to the capture of Andrew Wynne, a British national, and Lucky Ehis Obinyan, both declared wanted on charges of terrorism financing, treason, and subversion.
The police accused Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey, of plotting to overthrow President Tinubu and financing anti-government activities.
The Special Police Gazette Bulletin issued at the Force Headquarters details the allegations against the duo, including cybercrime and criminal conspiracy.
According to the bulletin, a N10 million reward is offered for information leading to each suspect’s arrest.
Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that Wynne concealed his activities by using legitimate fronts, such as the ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ and ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ in Abuja.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police stated that Wynne was involved in directing and financing an August protest aimed at destabilising Nigeria’s democratically elected government.
The investigation continues as authorities seek to thwart any attempts at unconstitutional regime change.
