President Bola Tinubu has again demonstrated his commitment to making tough but necessary decisions for Nigeria, according to his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi.
In a recent statement, Ajayi defended the President against critics who have challenged his ability to replicate Lagos’s successes on a national scale.
“Those who think they are taking a dig at the President have been gloating.
“Leadership is about fixing today’s problems and thinking ahead for years,” Ajayi noted, emphasising that Tinubu never claimed sole credit for Lagos’ progress.
Ajayi highlighted several of Tinubu’s key achievements, including the visionary groundwork for the Dangote Refinery and the ongoing metro rail projects, such as the Red and Blue Lines.
“The new Lagos Metro Red Line being test-run is a product of his visionary leadership,” Ajayi said, pointing out that the Blue Line has already carried over two million passengers in two years.
Despite facing harsh criticisms during his tenure as Lagos Governor, Tinubu’s persistence paid off.
“This President does not shy away from challenges. He works tirelessly to overcome and prevail,” Ajayi remarked, underscoring Tinubu’s readiness to make tough, sometimes unpopular, choices for the betterment of the country.
Though challenging, his efforts to steer Nigeria toward long-term prosperity remain a central theme in his presidency.
