Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has urged Nigerians to stay strong and be safe during the one-week extension of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in a nationwide broadcast on Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the lockdown extension till May 4, 2020.
The President added that the lockdown will be eased and selected business will be starting from Monday due to the several complaints from Nigerians.
He, however, commended Nigerians for endurance and support since the lockdown began over a month ago.
The president also urged Nigerians to adhere to the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in curtailing the spread of the dreaded virus.
Reacting to the lockdown extension In a tweet on his Twitter page on Monday, Fani-Kayode questioned the rationale behind the one-week extension.
However, the former minister advised Nigerians to stay strong and stay safe as the country battles to curb the virus.
He tweeted: “Another one week of “lockdown” in Abuja, Ogun and Lagos and total lockdown with immediate effect in Kano?
“Stay strong and stay safe folks: we shall survive it and in the end we shall prevail!”
