Force PRO Reacts After Tweet About Cultists Should Be Declared, Treated As Terrorists

The Nigeria Police Force Spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi says states should make special laws that would curb cultism and drug abuse in the country.

ACP Adejobi said this in response to an X user who expressed fear that a peaceful society will not be guaranteed if cultists are not declared and treated as terrorists.

The user, with the name SB, drew the attention of the Force image maker to a page on X, Naija Confra, which reports and posts cultist brutality.

Naija Confra, with over 80k followers wrote on its page, “Genuine plans and ideas geared towards the eradication of violence, killings and all other vices associated with confraternities in Nigeria.”

The user said, “If cultists are not declared terrorists and treated as such, we will never have a peaceful society. Have you seen what’s happening on @naijaconfra?.”

In response, ACP Adejobi said states should make special laws that would curtail cultism and drug abuse.

“The laws are to be specific and provide stringent punishments for them and their supporters and sponsors,” he noted.

“I am aware that some states have made laws to fight cultism and that the enforcement of such laws must be encouraged and sacrosanct.”
