Police Pass Important Message To Edo Voters Ahead Of Governorship Election

Ahead of Saturday, September 21st Governorship off-cycle election in Edo State, the Nigeria Police Force has sent a strong message to voters in the state.

The Force advised voters and residents to cast their votes during the polls and go home immediately afterward.

This advice was given by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Frank Mba, who is overseeing security for the Guber election.

Mba, who disclosed this on Channels Television on Friday, stressed that only accredited individuals would be allowed on the streets during the voting process.

The DIG also highlighted measures to ensure a peaceful election.

“It is important for everybody to know that if you are not accredited to carry out functions relating to the election, you shouldn’t be out on the streets,” Mba stated.

DIG Mba called on residents to fulfill their civic duties by voting and returning home safely.

“Whenever there is an off-cycle election, it simply means that there are a lot of spare hands from other states of the federation, so you are going to have party members from all divides,” he explained.

The police boss gave an assurance that the police are committed to providing security for all participants at the polls, including journalists, observers, and politicians present in the state.
