The Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, says a Nigerian lady who was put up for sale on Facebook by a Lebanese man has been rescued.
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that the lady, Busari Peace, was advertised for sale on Facebook for $1,000 by a Lebanese, Wael Jerro.
The advertisement was, however, criticised by Nigerians on social media; This led to the arrest of Jerro by the Lebanese Government.
In a tweet on her Twitter page on Tuesday night, NIDCOM boss said the Nigerian Mission in Beirut, Lebanon has located the lady and rescued her.
“Update on Nigerian girl put up for sale by a Lebanese, Wael Jerro, on Facebook.
“She has been rescued and safely with officials of the Nigerian Mission in Beirut,” she tweeted.
