Nigerians have been urged to commit to building a great nation for the present and future generations to come.
This call was made to Nigerians by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, October 1, while delivering his Independence Day speech.
According to the president, the 64th Independence Day celebration is an opportunity for the citizens to reflect on the journey so far while committing to nation-building.
His words, “Dear compatriots, our independence anniversary gives us another chance to reflect on how far we have gone in our journey to nation-building and to renew our commitment to building a better nation that will serve present and future generations of Nigerians.”
The president also urged that while celebrating the progress garnered so far, Nigerians must recognise their past mistakes and ride on them for a better nation.
How added, “If we are to become one of the greatest nations on earth, as God has destined us to be, our mistakes must not be allowed to follow us into the future.”
