One person has been reportedly killed in an explosion that rocked the Sapele Metropolis of Delta State.
It was gathered that the explosion occurred at about 6 pm on Tuesday leaving one person dead and many others injured.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred at a dump site where scavengers usually go to scout for scarp items.
The eyewitness said that the explosion could possibly be from an Improvised Explosive Device that was brought into the dump site by one of the scavengers who was killed in the incident.
He added that no fewer than two people and some residents of the area were severely injured.
He said, “They are currently receiving medical treatment”, the eyewitness said.
“The explosion has left the area in shock and mourning”.
