FG moves to unveil 15 million litres of aviation fuel depot

The Federal Government is set to unveil a 15 million litre aviation fuel depot close to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport road in Lagos.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo and his colleagues at the oil ministry, Heineken Lokpobiri.

The duo disclosed in a statement issued by the Group Managing Director of Masters Energy and Chairperson of the JUHI-2 Board, Mrs Patience Dappa.

According to the ministers, Joint User Hydrant Installation 2 would be unveiled by the FG on October 17 as the largest airside jet fuel depot in the country.

Dappa, in the statement, said that the facility will serve as a storage and supply point for jet fuels z

The depot would also ensure a steady supply of fuel to the airports and other airbases close by.

In addition, the MD of Eterna PLC, Abiola Lawal said the depot will support aviation operations across the country by meeting fuel demands for flight activities.

He said, “JUHI-2 is a joint venture between Eterna Plc, Masters Energy, Techno Oil, Quest Oil, Rahamaniyya, Ibafon Oil, and First Deep Water Limited.

The facility spans 46,000 square metres and boasts a storage capacity of 15 million litres of Jet A1 fuel.”
