Again, national grid collapses, second time in 24 hours

The national power grid has again collapsed its second collapse in 24 hours.

Confirming the collapse of the national power grid the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), in a post via X said the incident happened as a result of power supply across its network.

The post said, “Dear Valued Customer, Kindly be informed there was a system collapse at 09:17hrs which has resulted to a loss of power supply across our network.”

EKEDC, however, assured that all hands are on deck to ensure the issue is resolved promptly.

It said, “We are currently working with our partners as we hope for speedy restoration of the grid. We will keep you updated as soon as power supply is restored.”

This particular collapse marks the second one since Monday, October 14, when the nation was thrown into darkness due to the national power grid collapse.

The first one occurred at about 7 pm on Monday with electricity restored in some areas at 5.15 am on Tuesday.

It was gathered that electricity transmission on the national grid dropped from 3,566 megawatts to 0.00 megawatt during the said collapse.

With this, not one single electricity was transmitted to the 11 distribution companies across the country leading to total blackouts across Nigeria.
