Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi has suspended the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, who is accused of sleeping with a married woman in an “uncompleted building”.
A statement signed by Malam Bala Ibrahim, Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State on Saturday said the commissioner is suspended pending an investigation.
The suspension comes after Sankara’s arrest by the Kano State Hisbah Board in an uncompleted building with the woman on Friday evening.
According to Dr Abba Sufi, Director General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sankara was caught red-handed.
Reacting to the report, Sankara has denied the allegations, describing them as “false, baseless, and malicious” and an attempt to tarnish his image.
