President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following a work leave abroad.
In a tweet on Saturday Evening, Dada Olusegun, the Special Adviser to the President on Social Media, said Tinubu returned from the United Kingdom.
The Nigerian leader was received by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Tinubu departed for the United Kingdom on October 2, 2024, for a two-week working leave. He later left the UK for France on Friday, October 11, for “another important engagement,” his Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Masari, revealed in a tweet.
President Tinubu’s recent trip was his first official leave since taking office in May 2023, though he has made several foreign visits in that time.
In addition to this, he also recently returned from a trip to China.
The constitution mandates that the president must notify the National Assembly before going on vacation. It remains unclear whether President Tinubu fulfilled this requirement.
