The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), through the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (SIS), has successfully apprehended two suspects involved in artisanal oil refining activities.
The arrests took place at the Obeama Creeks in Rivers State, an area notorious for illegal oil bunkering operations.
During the raid, various sizes of locally fabricated ovens and illegal oil bunkering materials were destroyed, along with a large tarpaulin-dugout pit used for illicit refining processes.
This operation is part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to curb oil theft and the environmental degradation caused by illegal refining activities.
