BREAKING: Petrol Price Set to Drop as Refinery Cuts Commodity Costs

One of Nigeria’s local petroleum refineries, Dangote Petroleum Refinery, has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (PMS), also known as petrol.

The new price, which takes effect immediately, is N970 per litre for oil marketers, according to a statement released by the refinery on Sunday.

This reduction represents a cut of N20 from the refinery’s previous ex-depot price of N990, which was announced earlier this month.

“This is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true,”  a statement released by Anthony Chiejina, the group chief branding and communications officer of the Dangote Group, said.

The move is seen as a positive development for Nigerians, who have been grappling with high fuel prices in recent times.
