President Buhari orders Police to find killers of UNIPORT students

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the brazen murder of 3 students of the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers state.

In a statement on Sunday evening sent to POLITICS NIGERIA, signed by the President’s SSA on media, Garba Shehu, Mr Buhari commiserated with the families of the victims.

It will be recalled that the three UNIPORT students, a female and two males namely, Joy Adoki, Nelson Nwafor and Fortune Obimba were kidnapped on April 7, 2020, and killed the same day by their abductors. Adoki was reportedly raped before she was murdered.

“The President also extends condolences to the university authorities and the Rivers State Government over the unfortunate incident.”

“Describing the tragic occurrence as “sad and heinous,” President Buhari regrets that the “evil perpetrators have cut short the prospectively bright journey of these youths.”

“He prays that God will comfort all those who mourn these young students and grant their souls eternal rest.”

The President also noted that the Nigerian Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit apprehended one of the suspected perpetrators. He ordered the Police Authorities to intensify searches for the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.
