2027: Victor Umeh, Tony Nwoye secure NDC senatorial tickets

The duo emerged victorious in the NDC primary elections for Anambra Central and Anambra North senatorial districts respectively. Chief Ebuka Onunkwo also secured the ticket for Anambra South.

The NDC primaries, held on Friday across the country, produced candidates for various positions, including 11 for the House of Representatives and 30 for the State Houses of Assembly in different states.

Speaking after the exercise, the Anambra State Chairman of the NDC, Ikem Uzoezie, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the primaries.

Uzoezie described the process as one of the most peaceful, transparent, and fair primary elections in the country’s recent history.

“We congratulate all aspirants who emerged as candidates and those who did not, for the great sportsmanship they displayed,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the successful candidates, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo said the aspirants share a common vision to take Anambra to greater heights.

He added that the state is blessed with men and women of integrity and commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the primaries.

“With the calibre of candidates our party has produced for the forthcoming elections, Anambra is set to experience quality and populist representation that will elevate the state to a higher level,” Onunkwo stated.
