Ekiti Government Ends Work-From-Home Policy for Workers

The Ekiti State Government has cancelled its work-from-home policy for civil servants, effective immediately.

The policy, which was introduced in September last year, allowed public servants to work from home for one to three days a week, depending on their grade level.

According to a letter from the Office of Establishment and Service Matters, the cancellation is due to the implementation of the new minimum wage for all workers.

The government also cited its investments in worker welfare and the state’s promising contributions to the national economy.

The letter, signed by Permanent Secretary Mrs Funke Ajibola, instructed workers to return to their offices on Monday.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the work-from-home policy was initially introduced to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the state workforce.
