Peter Obi in closed-door meeting with top Northern PDP governor

On Thursday, March 13, the presidential candidate for Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi visited the governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Bala.

Obi who is currently in a closed-door meeting with Bala, a top member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was received at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport by the Deputy Governor, Auwal Mohammed Jatau, at about 10 am.

While the purpose of the meeting has not been made public, sources within the Government House said that Obi and Bala are expected to speak to journalists about the details of their meeting which is taking place at the Ramat House, Bauchi.

The meeting between Obi and Mohammed comes at the peak of defections from political parties and re-alignment of politicians ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Having come third after Tinubu and Atiku, Obi seems to be top on the list of viable politicians in the country, especially, considering the impact he had on the Nigerian youths and the Obidient Movement during the 2023 presidential election campaigns.

It is, however, not clear whether Obi, a former member of the PDP would be leaving the Labour Party which is already riddled with loads of leadership crisis or join any of the available political platforms
