Okpebholo suspends response team after death of 2-year-old baby

Days after the killing of a two-year-old girl during a clash between the Public Safety Response Team and a bus driver, the Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo has suspended the PSRT.

The team’s activities in tge state were suspended indefinitely by the governor on Friday, March 14.

Recall that Politics Nigeria had reported that the girl was killed when the driver of the bus lost control and veered off the road.

The bus rammed into a Point of Sale kiosk where the girl and her mother were standing.

Eyewitnesses at the scene said the incident followed a clash between members of the PSR team who were struggling with the steering of a moving bus with the driver.

The little girl died on the spot due to the heavy impact of the bus on the kiosk.

However, a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor said, “It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the indefinite suspension of the Public Safety Response Team headed by Kelly Okungbowa.”
