Fani-Kayode Condemns Wike’s demolition of Hotels

A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has knocked the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike for demolishing hotels that allegedly defied a lockdown order in the state.

Despite being a staunch supporter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Fani-Kayode, a notorious social media critic, said Mr Wike failed to exercise power with caution.

POLITICS NIGERIA reported how Mr Wike, on Sunday demolished Prodest hotel and Etemeteh hotel in Port-Harcourt for not respecting the Coronavirus lockdown order.

The action led to an outrage with many Nigerians expressing their displeasure. On Tuesday, Mr Fani-kayode said if the same action was carried out by President Muhammadu Buhari, it will be condemned and as such, Mr Wike misused his power as state governor.

“Transcorps Hilton, Abuja is the biggest hotel in Nigeria. If someone held a party there against a COVID-19 executive order of @MBuhari and the next day the hotel was demolished we would condemn it. No matter who wields it, power must be exercised with restraint and caution”

“I do not support Wike’s demolition of hotels but comparing him to Buhari in terms of tyranny is like comparing Little Red Riding Hood to the wolf.”

“Buhari is evil whilst Wike, for the better part of the last 10 years, has risked his life fighting evil, tyranny and oppression.” he wrote on Twitter.
