Na your mama: Nursing college queries nurse over video mocking First lady Oluremi Tinubu

A nursing student, Osato Edobor has been queried by the Delta State College of Nursing Services, Agbor, Delta for sharing the viral “Na Your Mama” video which mocked Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

The college in a query dated March 27, 2025, and issued to Edobor accused the student of an unauthorised publication of content on social media.

The query titled, “Query for Divulging Unauthorised Online Publication/ Video Social Media (TikTok, Facebook, ETC) was signed by Evbodaghe Rita, the provost of the college.

Rita in the query said the nursing student was found to have been engaged in the malicious act of recording, singing and posting unofficial response to the “Na your mama be this oo” song at the arrival of the First Lady.

The incident which took place on March 25, at the Dome Event Center, Asaba was marked for the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme and the distribution of 10,000 Professional Kits (Crocs and Scrubs) to Midwives in the South South region.

Rita stated that the video which showed the students mocking the First Lady – in response to a song sang by the Master of Ceremony – was seen published on the student’s TikTok page.

She added, “This is a punishable offence as enshrined in the Student Handbook under standardised disciplinary action for some punishable offences No.8,Page 21.

“You are therefore requested to explain in writing in triplicate copies within 24hours of receipt of this letter why disciplinary action should not be taken against you for this act,” the added.
