Gov Makinde visits ex-minister Adelabu over abduction of sister, nephews

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has visited immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, following the abduction of his sister and her twin sons.

The governor paid the visit to the Adelabu family home in Ibadan on Friday, June 5, 2026.

During the visit, Governor Makinde consoled the family and assured them of the safe rescue of the victims.

He also vowed that the perpetrators would be apprehended and brought to justice.

The visit came barely 24 hours after armed men abducted the ex-minister’s sister and her twin nephews in Ibadan.

Family members present thanked the governor for the show of solidarity and expressed hope that the victims would be reunited with the family soon.

They added that the governor’s gesture underscored the need for collective action to tackle the rising insecurity in the country.
