JUST IN: President Buhari, Service Chiefs in closed-door meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

It was gathered that the meeting started shortly after the service chiefs arrived in Aso Rock. The security chiefs were screened for COVID–19 and urged to wear to their face masks before gaining entrance into the villa.

Their temperatures were checked and they were also asked to use a hand sanitizer.

According to the media aide to the President, Bashir Ahmad, the meeting was summoned over the recent security challenges in Katsina, Nasarawa, Kaduna and other parts of the country.

He added that Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo and other heads of security agencies were also in attendance.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned a National Security Council over the recent security challenges in some parts of the country. Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, service chiefs and other heads of security agencies in attendance,” Ahmad tweeted.
