‘He’s a good guy but always angry’, Dele Momodu gives rare description of Wike’s personality

Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike as a good guy.

Speaking in a Television interview on Wednesday, the PDP chieftain, however, said that the Minister is always angry at the slightest provocation.

His words, “And I like to say it all the time, damn good guy, project man but always angry.”

Further highlighting details of some of the events that took place in the buildup of the 2023 presidential election campaign, Momodu said Wike, who has not ceased to complain about the zoning of the PDP ticket to the North South region was desirous of becoming a running mate to Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s flag-bearer.

“Now why did they not pick him? The same man who is complaining about North South was ready to be vice president, let him come and deny that he never planned to be vice president to Atiku.

“PDP does not have problem with North South, PDP fielded General Obasanjo from 1999-2007, thereafter Yar’Adua came and unfortunately passed on while in power and Dr Goodluck Jonathan, a perfect gentleman came onboard to complete their first term. Then he contested his own.

“So that’s one plus eight of Obasanjo – that’s nine years,” he said.

Continuing, the PDP chieftain said former president Goodluck Jonathan did another four years which he completed in 2015 before he lost the year’s election to Muhammadu Buhari.

“And if he (Jonathan) had won that election, PDP would have had Southerners for 17 years out of 24 years, but none of you remembers, people try to confuse us by telling lies. I don’t know about APC or any other party but PDP does not have a problem.

Momodu also queried which part of the Nigerian Constitution states what number of years a particular region should hold unto power.
