JUST IN: Another South-South governor hints on plan to dump PDP

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno has hinted that he might be joining the list of politicians and colleagues dumping the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Eno, while speaking days after the defection of his colleague Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, described the PDP as a damaged aircraft incapable of transporting passengers from one destination to the other.

The governor made this disclosure while addressing a crowd at the Town Square meeting of the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam federal constituency on Tuesday at the QIC Central School, Ikot Akpankuk, headquarters of Ukanafun Local Government Area.

He said the PDP lacks the capacity to take him to his next destination – the 2027 general elections.

According to the Akwa Ibom State governor, the main opposition party in the country may soon lose all its tenacity to win elections in Nigeria in less than no time.

“If you wanted to travel with Ibom Airline, and on the verge of taking off, it developed a fault that won’t enable it to fly, won’t you board the next available plane to take you to your destination?” Eno asked the crowd.

  1. The constitution stipulates that a political office holder or succinctly put, a politician, can defect to another party if there is a crisis or division in his party. The PDP is helplessly ‘haemorrhaging’. As it stands she is losing too much blood and since the
governor cannot afford to divert funds meant for the development of our dear state to resuscitate the the ailling party, he should leave in the speed of light. I’m not even comfortable with the word imminent he is quoted to have used to paint the picture. Let him defect immediately.
