“Address accusations against you, not through paid blackmailers” – Abdullahi blasts Akpabio

Nigerian politician Mohammed Abdullahi has called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to directly address the sexual harassment allegations levelled against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and others, instead of hiding behind a smear campaign fueled by hired blackmailers and image launderers.

Abdullahi expressed dismay over Akpabio’s alleged use of a controversial female professor in a coordinated media offensive aimed at discrediting Natasha and shielding himself from public accountability.

He noted the professor’s contradictory conduct — particularly her public denial of ties to Akpabio while simultaneously revealing his private phone number — as evidence of a dishonest and coordinated agenda.

“The contradiction is glaring. You cannot claim independence while exposing the private contact of the person you supposedly have no connection to. That alone exposes the deceit and suggests clear coordination,” Abdullahi stated.

He further described the professor’s involvement as part of a wider distraction campaign, accusing her of being a known figure with a tainted record, having previously been exposed in various reports for alleged fraud and criminal activity.

His words: “It’s disgraceful that a sitting Senate President would stoop so low as to use people of questionable reputation to do his dirty work.

“Rather than face the allegations with honour, Akpabio is relying on those whose public credibility is nonexistent.”

He also questioned the professor’s academic credentials, casting doubt on her professorial title and urging relevant authorities to verify her qualifications.

“A serious allegation like sexual harassment deserves a serious response — not a media circus led by individuals who are themselves under public scrutiny,” he said.

Abdullahi urged Akpabio to stop funding attacks on his accusers and instead respond to the allegations with courage and integrity.

“This is about leadership and accountability. Nigerians deserve the truth, not distractions. If Akpabio is innocent, let him prove it through facts and legal channels, not through hired propaganda and blackmail,” he concluded.
